Jason was born in San Francisco, California and first began coaching in 2002 at Gym City Gymnastics in Peachtree City, Georgia. He initially thought coaching was going to be a fun summertime job before he went off to college, but then realized that coaching gymnastics was the path for him. Soon afterwards, Jason became Head Coach of the girls team Levels 4 and 5 and one of his gymnasts scored a perfect 10.0 on Vault. During his time at Gym City, he attended many Regional Congresses and also went to National Congress in 2003 and 2004. Many of the techniques he learned over the years came from former Junior Elite gymnast Brad McLaren, and Master Clinicians Gary Goodson and Dr. Vladimir Zaglada. In 2007 Jason moved to Roswell, Georgia and began coaching at Roswell Gymnastics. While there, he coached Level's 5-10 on Bars. At Roswell Jason coached 10 State Champions on Bars (with many top 3 finishes at State and Regional's), 2 State Champions on Vault and a Regional Champion on Vault. Jason was also one of the coaches for the Level 6 Team to win Back-to-Back State Championships. In the 2009-2010 season, Jason was voted as Roswell Gymnastics Coach of the Year. Jason’s favorite event to coach is bars. For Jason, the best part of being a coach to Jason is to watch the development of the kids not only as gymnasts, but also as people.
